"You're Soaking In It"

Being the opposite of that Darwinian fish
I enter the shallow water
My amphibious belly
grazes the bottom
fins
and knees
scrape the lava
stinging
as I claw
towards the depths
or at least a point
where I can
put my head under

Honu-Turtle

A saline suffusion
is needed
to burn away the remnants of skin
shed back in the car

The anxiety and fear
donned
like a badge
is  a scab
that needs to come off
on its own
not revisited
eternally
rejuvenating
this wound
so old-
the memory of it's origination
is but a Chemtrail of the 747
that roared through
Time now for it to expel itself
but this harbour's bay is so receded
I want to be out amongst the tumult

of those rolling
racing white horses
of dreams
just out of reach
those crushing waves
that pull you under
'til you don’t know
if it will ever be over
and when it is
IF it is
you emerge
upright
from the water
